Ten-year-old Elizabeth lives in Burangi Village with her older sister, Juliana, and Juliana’s young daughter. Elizabeth’s father passed away before she was born, and she tragically lost her mother when she was just seven months old.
In January, Elizabeth will begin fourth grade at Kipangajeni Primary School. Her sister does everything she can to care for both girls. She earns a little income by selling produce. Unfortunately, this is not enough to consistently provide food, school fees, or other basic needs for the children.
Despite these challenges, Elizabeth is a serious and hardworking student. She dreams of staying in school and building a better future.
