Tumaini Julius

Tumaini Julius teaching in her classroom

Every child who has been sponsored has had life-changing opportunities.

We are very proud of our Imani Project graduates who continued to high school and Polytechnic schools despite difficult living situations.  We are very grateful to their sponsors who paid school fees and occasional living expenses.

Kitsao Mwena, was a sponsored orphan for many years from one of our poorest villages. At age 14, he fell out of a coconut tree and became a paraplegic. His generous sponsor supported him throughout all his childhood.  She even purchased a motorized wheelchair for him so he could navigate to classes at university.  Kitsao majored in communications and graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University in Nairobi.

Tumaini Julius was orphaned at the age of 12, and because she was sponsored through the Imani Project was able to attend boarding schools through high school.  Without this help, she would have had no home or path to a future.  Her generous sponsor continued to support her as she earned her teaching degree.  Tumaini now successfully teaches preschoolers in Malindi, Kenya.
