Empowering Young Learners in Coastal Kenya

The Imani Project is a partnership between Americans and Kenyans, dedicated to empowering children affected by extreme poverty in coastal Kenya by promoting education and improving health through nutritional support for the children and their families. The mission of the Imani Project is to empower these children to become leaders, educators, and caregivers in their communities.

The Imani Project matches African children suffering from extreme poverty with international sponsors.  A gift of $35/month provides food and support for the child and their guardians.

The Imani Project started and continues to support a small preschool in the village of Misufini in Kalifi County Kenya. The school was renovated and renamed Mama Marlene Learning Center in honor of our founder, Marlene Anderson.

Our children live in over 25 villages in a 30 Km radius of Malindi, Kenya. Children receive bimonthly distributions of food and other essential commodities. School fees and uniforms are provided for all preschool through 9th grade students.
